There are types of depression that does not need professional and medical attention. However, under excessive constraints, there are some types of depression who requires ample attention from medical experts to manage and go through it. There are different types of psychiatric disorder that occurs in different types of people. However, we will be dealing with the most common types of depression. The most common type is the clinical or major depression. It is characterized by severe episodes and requires immediate help from medical experts and psychological doctors. This type of psychiatric disorder affects the physical, mental, emotional, social, and psychological well being of a person. The severity of this type of depression is unconditionally high. The severity of this type of depression normally occurs among women since women have high risk for this depression type than men have.

In addition, if untreated, it might lead to major psychiatric disorder and the characteristics will likely be the same. On the other hand, there is another type of depression that is uniquely different among all other types. The bipolar depression which is commonly known as bipolar disorder or manic-depressive disorder is characterized by phases of anxiety and depression occurring alternately but simultaneously. Bipolar disorder is the result of chemical imbalance occurring on the brain.

It is characterized by hallucinations, whether through vision or hearing, with some types of delusions. This requires professional help with regular monitoring to make sure the patient is not on the verge of hiring themselves or others.

Postpartum depression, as the term suggests is the type of depression which occurs after a woman gave birth while premenstrual dysphoric depression occurs normally before the woman’ menstrual cycle occur. These types of depression are related to natural human processes for women.

These are the most basic and common types of sadness. The types differ in accordance to the nature of the circumstances and some environmental constraints. Most of these types of depression is associated with unwanted events, personal downfall, or even peer issue.
